Good news AHS lovers! It looks like Jessica Lange might be returning to the popular show, sometime in the not-too-distant future.
In a red carpet interview for Feud: Bette and Joan, Ryan Murphy, co-creator of the hit anthology, told TV Guide that he was hopeful that he might be able to bring Lange back to the show:
“I think she would if I bribed her enough, you know? I haven’t really talked to her about it at all because we are still figuring out that story, but I think we do want to do that.”
Last year, Murphy announced his intention to make a crossover season between the two most popular seasons, “Murder House” and “Coven,” but has recently mentioned some other plans he had for the eighth or ninth season of the series:
“It’s a character from season 1 that will be thrust into the world that you are left with at the end of Coven, which is sort of like the male/female/witch academy. And then all of those characters will intertwine, which is confusing because some of them are from seasons 1 and 3. Like, Sarah Paulson will probably be playing 18 characters.”
Whoa! Trying to keep one personality straight is difficult enough for most people, never mind eighteen. But, we will remain hopeful that Lange might reprise her role as the conniving Fiona or the infamous Constance in the crossover…or even both.
The anthology is set to return this fall with the much-anticipated seventh season, which will make the 2016 presidential election its focus.
Until we see what Murphy & Co has in store for us this coming season, it’s never a bad time to re-watch the previous seasons of American Horror Story.
